Sacrament of Confirmation
Confirmation is one of the Sacraments of Initiation in the Catholic Church. Through the gift of the Holy Spirit, candidates are strengthened to live their faith, witness to Christ, and participate more fully in the life and mission of the Church.
Our Confirmation preparation program helps teens deepen their relationship with God through faith formation, prayer, service, and parish life. Confirmation is not the end of faith formation, but the beginning of a lifelong journey of discipleship.

Sacrament of Confirmation: Requirements
For families:
- You MUST BE REGISTERED at OLL or Catholic parish

Regularly participate in Sunday Mass and the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
For Candidates
To receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, candidates must:

Be baptized Catholics.

Complete 2 consecutive years of faith formation (starting in 8th), including sessions, retreats, and service activities.

Choose a Confirmation name (a saint’s name) as a model for their faith journey.

Show a willingness to live out their Catholic faith in daily life.
For Parents/ Guardians
Parents play a vital role in their teen’s Confirmation journey:

Encourage and support your teen’s faith formation.

Attend parent meetings and orientation sessions.

Help your teen prepare through prayer, discussion, study, and service.

Participate in Confirmation liturgies as requested by the parish.

May not serve as their child’s sponsor.
Important Dates (2026–2027)
- Wednesday, August 26, 2026 – First Day of Class
- Saturday, November 14, 2026 (9:00 AM–3:00 PM) – Year 1 Retreat
- Wednesday, December 9, 2026 – Sacramental Certificates Due (if Baptism and First Communion were not celebrated at Our Lady of La Salette)
- Wednesday, January 27, 2027 – Confirmation Saint Name Due
- Wednesday, January 27, 2027 – Sponsor Forms Due
- Saturday, February 27, 2027 – Year 2 Confirmation Retreat
- Wednesday, April 14, 2027 – Service Hours Due
- Wednesday, April 21, 2027 – Confirmation Practice
- Sunday, April 25, 2027 at 3:00 PM – Confirmation Mass
